Albert Gilbert Meier Acosta, 31, was travelling Westbound on Route 30 in Lancaster near Rohrerstown Road in a Mini Cooper when he struck a disabled Chrysler 300 parked along the shoulder, according to police.
Police arrived on the scene of the crash at approximately 9:26 p.m.
The impact of the Cooper into the Chrysler caused the Chrysler to catch fire.
The westbound lanes of Route 30 were closed until 2:45 a.m.
Acosta was transported to Lancaster General Hospital where he died.
The family of Acosta launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover the funeral expenses as of Tuesday morning the campaign had raised over $2,000 of its $5,000 goal. If you want to donate you can click here.
The crash is being investigated by the Lancaster County Crash Investigation Team.
